
Vanilla Cupcakes (burger buns)
Ingredients
- Plain flour 55 g
- Baking powder ¾ tsp
- Butter 63 g
- Sugar 50 g
- Egg 1 no
- Vanilla Essence ¼ tsp
- Milk 1 tbsp
- Sesame seeds
Method
- Sieve the flour with baking powder.
- Cream the butter and sugar until white and fluffy.
- Beat in egg and fold in flour carefully. Do not overmix.
- Fill paper cups about 2/3 full.
- Sprinkle some sesame seeds over the top.
- Bake at 170 C (160 C with fan) for about 12 minutes or until cooked.
Buttercream frosting (sauce)
Ingredients
- Salted butter 35 g
- Icing sugar, sifted 45 g
- Milk (if required) drop
- Green, yellow or red coloring drop
Method
- Beat butter until creamy, scrape bowl.
- Add sifted icing sugar, milk and beat until combined.
- Add more powdered sugar as needed to get piping consistency.
- Add a drop of green coloring and stir till color is distributed evenly.
Chocolate Brownies (burger patty)
Ingredients
- White sugar 5 g
- Brown sugar 55 g
- Unsalted Butter, melted 76 g
- Vanilla essence ¼ tsp
- Egg 1 no
- Plain flour 43 g
- Cocoa 18 g
- Baking powder pinch
- Salt pinch
Method
- Preheat oven to 180C.
- Mix together melted butter with white and brown sugar.
- Add in vanilla essence and egg.
- In a separate bowl, stir together cocoa, flour, baking soda and salt.
- Fold into batter and mix well. Ensure all ingredients are evenly combined. Pour batter into prepared tin. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until done.
To assemble
- Cut each cupcake into half.
- Cut the brownies into rounds using a round cutter.
- Place the brownie patty onto the cupcake base.
- Gently squeeze out the buttercream frosting over the brownie and decorate them as if they are the ketchup, mustard and lettuce.
- Place another piece of the cupcake on top and press gently.
